Terms
The agreement between you and Homeboard, kept short and plain.
Updated 30 September 2026
Who we are
Homeboard is run by Luca Barton, a sole trader in England ("we"). Contact: hello@homeboard.uk. By making an account you agree to these terms.
What Homeboard is
A website that shows your family's calendars, weather, photos and more on a screen at home, most often an old iPad on the wall. It is free for one wall display. Homeboard Plus adds the features listed on the pricing page, and every new home can try Plus free for its first 30 days.
Your account and your home
- Keep your password to yourself, and make a recovery key on the Account page: we have no other way to get you back in.
- An owner of a home decides who is in it and can remove people. Everyone in a home can see and change its screens, family and photos.
- You need to be 18 or over to make an account of your own or to own a home. Children can use Homeboard only in a home a parent or guardian runs, through an account that adult makes for them or on the family's wall.
Using it fairly
Don't use Homeboard to break the law, to store content you have no right to, or to attack or overload it or anyone else. Don't use its server to fetch things other than what your screens show. We may pause a home that does, and will tell its owner why.
Keeping Homeboard safe, and reporting a problem
A home is private: only the people in it see its screens, photos, notes and family page. There are no public profiles, and nobody outside a home can find it, see it or contact anyone in it.
- Don't put anything illegal on Homeboard: for example child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, threats or harassment, content that encourages suicide or self-harm, fraud, or anything you have no right to share. Don't use a block, such as the web page or custom HTML blocks, to show such content or to attack anyone.
- We don't look through homes' content, because it is private to each household. When we learn of illegal content, from a report or otherwise, we remove it quickly, may pause the home, and report it to the police or other authorities where the law requires.
- To report something (illegal content, a safety worry, or someone misusing Homeboard), email hello@homeboard.uk with "Report" in the subject and what you saw and where. We confirm we have it and act on it as quickly as we can.
- If we remove your content or pause your home, we tell the owner why. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that email and we will look at it again and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to us at any time about how we deal with reports.
Your content
Your screens, photos and family information stay yours. You let us store them and show them to the people in your home, which is all we do with them. The privacy page has the details.
Buying Plus
- Plus is a single payment for one home. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
- Payments are handled by Paddle, which sells Plus on our behalf as the merchant of record. Paddle's buyer terms cover the payment itself.
- You can have a full refund within 30 days. See refunds.
- Plus stays with your home for as long as Homeboard runs, including later updates. If Homeboard ever had to close, we would give every home at least 90 days' notice and a way to keep a copy of everything.
Keeping it running
We work to keep Homeboard running and your data safe, but can't promise it will never be unavailable. Displays keep a copy of their screens and carry on through short outages. Keep your own copy with Save a copy of this home on the Account page. We may change or improve features; if a change takes away something Plus includes, we'll tell you first and you can ask for a refund.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. We may close accounts that break these terms, after telling the owner and giving them the chance to keep a copy, unless the law or safety requires otherwise.
If something goes wrong
We are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss we couldn't foresee, or for problems caused by other services a block shows (such as a calendar provider being down). Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't let us limit. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
Changes and law
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before the change applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings there.
